The 2025 Annual Conference will be held July 6-9 in Cody, Wyoming (USA)

Dear LIWC Members,
We invite you to the 66th Annual Livestock Insect Workers Conference that will occur June 23rd – 26th, 2024 in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
We are looking forward to an engaging series of speakers!
Our student members are involved in incredible projects, and it’s wonderful to hear about their study outcomes. As always, student registration is free, and we encourage all students in our membership to apply for a Student Travel Grant to offset meeting costs.
It is an honor to highlight our members selected for the esteemed Lifetime Achievement and Industry Appreciation Awards. This year, we updated our Grants and Awards page to better clarify the selection criteria and the nomination letter. We have so many members deserving of these awards – please consider taking the time to prepare a nomination!
All award nominations and travel grant applications are due April 28th.
A huge ‘Thank You’ to Dr. Karen McKenzie, Gina Barrella, and Natalie Sater for all their efforts to make our conference memorable!
See you in Cocoa Beach!

Welcome to the Greater Yellowstone Area (GYA)!

We are elated to host the 67th annual meeting of the Livestock Insect Worker’s Conference at the Holiday/Comfort Inn at Buffalo Bill Village in beautiful Cody, Wyoming.
Cody is located just 40 miles from Yellowstone National Park’s East Gate entrance and is
surrounded by fun to be had for all ages and personalities! From the McCullough Peaks wild
mustangs, water rafting tours, Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum, golf course, local shops and eateries, and much more, everyone will find something to enjoy! Feel free to contact Hannah Walker, Local Arrangements Committee lead, for details and recommendations on your interests!
Together, let’s dive into the latest news / research in livestock entomology, exchange valuable insights from our four sectors, and create an environment for new partnerships to flourish and benefit the future of livestock entomology! We are eager to hear about the applied research you have all been conducting over the past year.
The conference will kick off with a welcome reception Sunday evening, July 6th, at the Buffalo Bill Center of The West Museum (1 mile from Holiday/ Comfort Inn). This museum is affiliated with the Smithsonian and will be offering light appetizers and beverages! We encourage everyone to join in as this is a great time to catch up, meet new people, and explore the museum in a private event setting.
Presentations will be held all day Monday, half the day Tuesday, and half the day Wednesday. Per our usual LIWC routine, Tuesday afternoon will be open for everyone to explore Cody. We are attempting to coordinate a group river float trip but that will be dependent on water levels that time of year. If Yellowstone is on your check list, I would not recommend Tuesday’s free afternoon as the time to go, you’ll want at least a full day to see the park and traffic will be heavy
this time of year!
Our banquet to celebrate the student travel winners and honor our Lifetime Achievement and Industry Award recipients will occur Tuesday evening at the Trailhead Bar | Grill | Wood Fired Pizza (1/2 a mile from Holiday / Comfort Inn).
The business meeting will follow the end of presentations Wednesday morning, and we will hear
more about LIWC 2026 from Dr. Brandon Smythe.
We are looking forward to hosting you all in the GYA!
